Jake Varner is a retired American freestyle wrestler who was born on March 2, 1986 in Bakersfield, California. He is known for his success in the sport, having won numerous titles and medals throughout his career.
Varner competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where he won the gold medal in the 96 kg weight class. He also won a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
In addition to his Olympic success, Varner has also won multiple World Championships and Pan American Championships. He attended Iowa State University, where he was a standout wrestler and won two NCAA Division I national championships.
